So I posted this on the other Elevator Pitch thread but not many there so here goes:

I depict the spiritual essence of life in various modes from ancient tradition to contemporary using either gouache, acrylic or mixed media. I pull the heart out of the ordinary and make them extraordinary.

Thank you Wanda. However as I said it out loud it didn’t roll off the tongue too easily or maybe I just need to memorise it like Crista says.

Hi – like Anahata – I seem to have posted on the other thread!  – so here is my second attempt!

My work celebrates the colour of life and the beauty that can be found there. I create detailed portraiture and imaginative pastels – they are very different, but both embrace the light and colour of life.

Great words — if you want to shorten it —  you could use

My work celebrates the colour of life and the beauty that can be found there through detailed portraiture and imaginative pastels.

Thank you Wanda – Yes – I can see what you are saying. I posted an alternative just at the same time as you sent in your comment. I’m finding it quite difficult to marry my 2 diverse styles – but its really helping me think about my aims and their similarities!  B x

      or maybe this one –

I paint intricate portraits that hold a gentle beauty and imaginative pastels that burst with colour and hope. I would say that beauty and hope are my goals.

        Beverley,

I think you could use the 1st sentence on its own.  I like the change you made – its a stronger statement/pitch and marries your 2 styles.

Thanks – I have been thinking this through a lot and picked this one for now!  Something about it feels v true to me but I am not sure if this comes across?

I believe in the healing power of art – I paint portraits and imaginative pastels to bring more beauty and hope into the world.

I really like this sentence –

I make sculpture out of bronze that gives form to the local familiar or the spirit that energizes a place.

I think it stands alone and makes me want to know more, see your art…

“My work is about making a reason to go to the town square or the park – a touch stone and a meeting place.”

That is enough to get me to ask more.

Ah, still too long and wordy, but this is the gist of it, so far!

I’m working on ‘unique, individually-personalised‘ – argh.     (‘Bespoke‘ is so overused.)

I work with ethically-sourced precious metals and stones,
creating unique, individually-personalised jewellery and sculptures,
evoking natural patterning, and sacred geometry,
within a framework of deep-ecological principles and practices.

    Any suggestions very welcome!     Thanks!

Hello everyone. Sorry to be behind in posting my elevator pitch. You have all done a great job developing your unique statement and helping each other out. Here is what I have come up with. Open to comments, thanks.

I draw and paint on canvas and clay. I magnify intimate details from nature to reveal one’s awareness of our interconnectedness with the sacred web of life.

    Hi everyone,

This is my simple “Elevator Pitch”:

I paint mostly impressionistic landscapes on location, from life-usually in Oil.  This is known as Plein Air painting, which means to paint in the “open air”.

I put “mostly” in, because I also paint Still-lifes and Portraits, but not sure if there is a better way to say that.

    Thank you for your input,

    Susan Havey

      To Susan Havey-

Susan, I would exclude the definition of “en plein air” (this can be explained in a follow-up discussion), and talk more about what motivates you to paint, what you are trying to capture, or why you are paint.

To Doug– if you wanted to go even more minimalist:

My sculptures in bronze give form to the spirits that energize a place.

I work in digital art and in clay to create bursts of colour and delight that radiate love.

    Hello fellow artists!

Please find my “elevator pitch” below –
Thank you once again for your feedback,
    Rhonda

My work involves printmaking, in which I work with intaglio, relief, seriography, lithography and papermaking processes. My work is multi-discipline where I use drawing, photography, collage, and painterly methods to create original prints using a press or pulling by hand. I may also incorporate my work into assemblage sculptures, such as artist books, ornaments and the like.

    Hi

Here is my new attempt for the elevator pitch:

My pencil drawings are about the aesthetic, ecological and emotional meaning of synthetic layers in our surrounding.

    Thanks
