    My elevator pitch;ย  ” I create a realistic portrayal of my subject, by capturing its subtleties and movements in a classic artistic style.”

    Hi Everyone;

    Here is my first draft of the Elevator Pitch:
    <div class=”page” title=”Page 5″>
    <div class=”layoutArea”>
    <div class=”column”>

    I depict the spiritual essence of life in various modes from ancient tradition to contemporary and use either gouache, acrylic or mixed media. I pull the heart out of the ordinary and make them extraordinary.

    Thank you for any comments you may feel to share.

    </div>
    Blessings,

    Anahata

    Hi Anahata – I like what you say and it does make me want to see the work. I wonder if you need the ” and use either gouache acrylic or mixed media” in this initial sentence though as the bits that interestย me lie in the other 2 statements? – just a thought. I don’t see anyone else’s on her but I will post mine now so please let me know what you think. Also can you post link to your website ย – I may have seen it elsewhere but can’t find link now.

    Hi ย – this is my initial elevator pitch – please feel free to comment – I am not quite set on it yet.

    My work is the joyful exploration of colour and light either in delicately detailed portraiture or in more imaginative, prayerful work with a message.

    OK…Here is my pitch…

    My work captures those split candid moments in life where people are at their best. My work celebrates people from all cultures and embraces the human spirit that ignites the imagination.

    OK. That did not come out how I obviously wanted it to.

    “So…What do you do Brad?”

    While most of the world seems to be focusing on the negative things in life or what divides us…I am on the search forย what brings us closer together, what we share in common.

    I am an oil painter, an artist. My work is about finding that “Golden Thread,” those split moments in life, where people are at their best. Those moments….that bring us closer together, not further apart.

    May I ask…what do you do?

    I like it just “I pull the heart out of the ordinary and make them extraordinary.”

    Shaz, this would be challenging to say on a moments notice.ย  I think you could remove some of your descriptive copy and land on a simplified version of this that feels good.ย  Something like: My work with metals and stones draw upon natural patterning and sacred geometry, creating unique and personalized jewelry and sculptural pieces.ย  I feel the other details you’ve included fit nicely in your artist statement, and once engaged in a conversation, your connection to eco methods and beliefs will emerge naturally.

    Alisa, I love your pitch!ย  Beautiful, succinct and creates interest in learning more <3ย  I have a quote that informs my work and it feels resonant to you as well – it’s by Dr David Hawkins and it is “When one’s attitude towards everything becomes a devotion, Divinity reveals itself.”

    I really like the last sentence, but find the whole a little long.

    How about:

    Using gouache, acrylic or mixed media, I capture the spiritual essences of life: I pull the heart out of the ordinary and make it extraordinary.

    Beverley, this pitch is great for your website or statement but practice saying it out loud. I think you’ll want to streamline it to something more straightforward and simple – especially as you’re going to be selling your services.

    My work celebrates the colour of life and the beauty that can be found there. I create detailed portraiture and imaginative pastels – they are very different,ย but both embrace the light and colour of life.

    Hi Brad – I get both your sentences – but I think you may only need the second one – it seems to encapsulate what you are saying. – Beverley

    To Brad, if you are still working on condensing– a thought:

    In my work as an oil painter, I try to capture the moments when people are at their best: connecting with others.

    Hi Beverley;

    Great question about the mediums portion of my elevator pitch. However, my experience is that every time people find out I am an artist, their first question is what mediums do you use? Thats why I thought to put it in there. But it might make my pitch smoother at first to delete it then answer their question next as they will ask it anyway.

    cheers,

    “My work captures those split candid moments in life where people are at their best.”

    I think it stands alone and sounds interesting.

    Hi Sherri – thank you!ย  Your reply really helps – I think I was vaguely aware that there was too much packed into a tight space!ย  I love the clarity and simplicity of your version. I intend to try it out over the next few days.ย  Thanks again.
