Deleted UserNovember 1, 2017 at 10:18 pmHi Everyone … this is my pitch from an elevator in Bondi.
Currently I am doing ink drawings on OSB.
They are inherently different and strong because of the material.
-
That’s cunning re: OSB as I was going to make the same comment, like that idea Steve.
-
-
Hi Steve, not being a “handy person” I had to look up OSB. Photos of the interesting surfaces of OSB made me understand how your drawings could be very interesting.

Deleted UserNovember 2, 2017 at 5:12 pmThank You Martina.
Glad you looked up OSB. I left it like that on Purpose so that a fellow travelator would ask what it was.
In other words a lot easier to continue further in conversation.

My elevator pitch:
The wild intoxicates me! I chase that feeling in my landscapes by painting spontaneously, using rough textures and loosely-applied acrylics. -
Great elevator pitch Martina, really invites the listener to see you work

-
Thank you. However, I am glad that what I feel is like being on a high 🙂
Maybe my elevator companion will also questions “intoxicate”, which’d be good.
-

My first stab at this:
I combine the rich surface of polished bronze forms with the contrasting colour and texture of rusted sheets of steel, to create sculptures which have their origins in the microscopic world.
Any feedback welcomed.
-
Mark,
The part that makes me want to know more is – create sculptures which have their origins in the microscopic world.

Mark Butler, I’m going to tell you what I’ve been telling others. Practice saying this out loud. Pretend you’re at a cocktail party and surrounded by art collectors. This is really really close but I’ll bet it’s a mouthful. Simplify.
-
Here is my elevator speech:
I have invented a unique approach to Interactive Art called Re-Create. With Re-Create, people can move a variety of shapes around and create their own compositions. I love seeing people light up when they can touch and move the art. Re-Create fosters innovation, creativity and play.
Thank you,
Majie

Agree with others– too many “creates” and a little long. Still intriguing, but could be more surgical!

Deleted UserNovember 3, 2017 at 8:26 pmMy work has an expressionist feel; it’s always a conversation about relationships through subject, suggestion or just color.
-
I suggested this to someone else too Drew, would it be worth stating your medium (although I suppose its a talking point if someone wants to ask). I like the general feel of the pitch but I wondered how exactly you go about producing your artworks.
-
Email2drew… perhaps shorten to:
My work is an expressionist conversation about relationships between subject, suggestion, and colour

Deleted UserNovember 3, 2017 at 8:52 pmHi Majie.
First and most important is that i think it is a great idea.
But the pitch is a bit long.
re-create x 3 creativity x1 and create x1. too many creates !!
My invention is called Re-Create.
It is interactive and you make your own Art by moving different shapes. Its Fun
Good luck with Re-Create. Have you trialled it with young and old ?
-
feedback welcome…
I infuse vibrant colors with shapes, patterns and textures in glass.
-
This could just be me having a crazy moment but it feels the wrong way around – it is the use of the work infuse that has me confused. It feels as though it should read ‘infuse glass with colour, shape and texture’? Obvioulsy it is your art so you know what and how you do the work and perhaps I’m totally wrong – its a talking point as I’m intrigued now by what exactly it is you produce and how you go about that.
-
thanks for the feedback. Here is my new elevator pitch. any feedback is appreciated.
I fuse glass into shapes, patterns and textures bringing vibrant colors to life.

Deleted UserNovember 4, 2017 at 12:59 pmHi Wanda.
I am not sure about this one.
its short and sweet but leaves me a little flat.maybe its a bit too short and I would mention glass pretty much first up.
That’s just me.!!
-
This is my first attempt at an elevator pitch! Hope I have something good to start off with, so here goes…
I like to depict historical places or locations in a way that draws the viewer in, inviting them to look closer and perhaps find themselves there in the moment. I currently work in ink and watercolors.
Thanks in advance for any and all feedback.

Deleted UserNovember 4, 2017 at 3:08 pmHi Vicky. 9/10
its just me but i don’t think you need to say places or locations ( same thing) Also not keen on the viewer in..inviting . ( in a way that invites viewers to stay and take a closer)
OR
I use ink and watercolours to depict historical sites. They’re an open invitation for viewers take a closer look and hopefully find themselves there in the moment.
Just a suggestion
Steve

Okay, I am way behind, having been picked for 2 weeks of Jury Duty. That is over and here I go with a first attempt at an elevator pitch:
My art is a whimsical celebration of life crhttps://learning.theworkingartist.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/TWA-Kit-Checklist.pngeated with acrylic paintings. It invites the viewer to celebrate life’s little joys.-

i think this is a good statement that covers what your art is about (i love a good whimsical celebration) how you do it (acrylic painter) and the hook (life’s little joys. i want to know what they are!). Perfect.
If you wanted to you could make it one sentence…
I make acrylic paintings that are whimsical celebrations of life’s little joys.
But they both sound good, whichever is easier to remember or as Crista says, rolls off the tongue. Good job, you’re done. Except for the part in front of the mirror 🙂
-
I agree with Drew. Like the single sentence version he suggests.
-
Thanks for the input. I continue to mess with it and so happy I am able text without the html… confusion. But you figured it out.
