Be Your Own Hero: Embrace Your True Nature as an Artist

You can be your own hero and embrace your true nature by recognizing that happiness is an inside job, stemming from experiencing your true self more deeply. The narrative illustrates this by recounting a high school reunion where the author realized her 'hero' was simply living his true nature of rescuing others, independent of her. This realization prompts the reflection that artists, too, embody their art as their true nature. Therefore, instead of waiting for external rescue, the path to happiness and fulfillment lies in embracing who you truly are and being your own rescuer.
